Message from the President

After completing the John Maxwell Leadership Coaching and Mentorship Program, I discovered a powerful calling: investing in the leadership potential of our youth. It became clear to me that the journey must begin early. I was fully prepared to lead, guide, and support my own children in every way possible. But then I asked myself, why stop with just my children? Why not extend this vision to other teens and youths in our community?

At the time, my firstborn hadn’t yet turned 12, and when the Youth Hut was launched, none of my children were old enough to participate. That alone speaks volumes that this initiative isn’t just about my children. It’s about a deep-rooted passion and a burning desire to see all our children succeed. It’s about ensuring that no child is left behind.

I urge you, as parents, to seize this opportunity. Let your child become part of a community that is building a great future, not just academically, but in life. No child should enter their teenage years without understanding the principles of learning, leadership, and personal growth, to equip them with the tools, mindset, and values they need to thrive.

So, why Leadership? It is for:

  • 1) Identity formation – shaping their sense of self to help them build purpose, confidence, and direction.
  • 2) Emotional Intelligence – this is an essential skill that helps them navigate life (relationships, conflicts, stress, etc).
  • 3) Decision making power – equipping them to make thoughtful decisions and learn to handle complex life challenges later on in life.
  • 4) Influence – to reinforce to them that they have a voice that they must use to impact.

Why should they start now?

  • 1) To form leadership habits early – waiting until adulthood means missing principles of growth and impact.
  • 2) To start leading – to lead at school, at home, and their immediate environment. This formal leadership development amplifies their impact.
  • 3) The world needs them – this is not optional anymore, this is essential.
